Terms of Use
Ogham Oracle
Version: 1.0 Effective date: August 9, 2026 Last updated: August 9, 2026
Read this first
Ogham Oracle is a work of entertainment and self-reflection.
The readings, symbols, portraits, compatibility results and interpretations it produces are not predictions of fact and carry no claim of accuracy, efficacy or supernatural power.
Nothing in this App is medical, psychological, legal, financial, tax, insurance, employment or any other kind of professional advice. Do not use it as a substitute for a qualified professional, and do not use it to make decisions that affect your health, your money, your safety, your legal position, or another person’s life.
If you are in crisis, in danger, or thinking about harming yourself, close this App and contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately. Ogham Oracle is not a support service. No one is monitoring it, and it cannot help you.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Runic Oracle & Ogham Oracle, an independent app developer based in Novi Sad, Serbia (“we”, “us”, “our”), governing your use of the Ogham Oracle mobile application, its content, and any related services (together, the “App”).
By downloading, installing, opening or using the App, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.
Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference and explains how we handle your data.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the App. If the law where you live sets a higher age of digital consent or contractual capacity, that higher age applies.
By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement, that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, and that you are not barred from using the App under any applicable law or sanctions regime.
3. What Ogham Oracle is — and what it is not
This section is the most important part of these Terms. Please read all of it.
3.1 Entertainment and self-reflection only
The App draws on ogham, Irish tree lore, the lunar cycle, the Wheel of the Year and related Celtic material to produce readings, portraits, quizzes and interpretive text. It is offered for entertainment, cultural interest, and personal reflection only.
We make no representation and no warranty that any reading, symbol, portrait, compatibility result, omen, quiz outcome or interpretation is accurate, predictive, meaningful, reliable, or capable of producing any outcome whatsoever. No result is a statement of fact about the past, the present or the future.
3.2 Not professional advice
Nothing produced by, contained in, or arising from the App constitutes professional advice of any kind, including but not limited to:
- medical, health, dental, nutritional, pharmaceutical or veterinary advice;
- mental-health, psychiatric, psychological, therapeutic or counselling advice;
- legal advice;
- financial, investment, trading, tax, accounting, insurance, credit or real-estate advice;
- employment, career, immigration, educational or child-rearing advice;
- relationship, marital or family advice;
- advice on safety, security, travel, or any other matter with real-world consequences.
No practitioner–client, therapist–patient, attorney–client, or advisor–client relationship is created by your use of the App.
3.3 Health
Never use the App to diagnose, treat, prevent or manage any physical or mental health condition. Never delay seeking professional care, disregard professional advice you have received, or start, stop, change or adjust any medication, treatment, therapy or diet because of anything the App shows you.
If you have or suspect a health problem, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
3.4 Emergencies and crisis
The App is not an emergency, crisis or support service. It does not monitor what you type, it cannot detect distress, and no human being is reading your questions.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, are in physical danger, or are having thoughts of harming yourself or anyone else, stop using the App and contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline immediately. In the EU and much of Europe, dial 112. In the United States and Canada, dial 911, or call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Elsewhere, use your local emergency number.
3.5 Money
Do not use the App to make investment, trading, borrowing, lending, insurance or business decisions. Do not use it for gambling, betting, lotteries, sports wagering, or any game of chance, or to select numbers, outcomes, timings or counterparties for any of the above. Any financial loss you incur after consulting the App is yours alone.
3.6 Decisions that affect other people
Do not use the App, or anything it produces, to make or influence decisions about another person’s employment, hiring, promotion or dismissal; their housing or tenancy; their credit, insurance or benefits; their medical care; their custody, guardianship or immigration status; or any other decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on them.
If you perform a compatibility reading involving another person, you are responsible for having their agreement to do so. Do not enter another person’s private information without their knowledge.
3.7 Cultural and historical accuracy
We take Irish and Celtic heritage seriously and we label our sources honestly. Content in the App is marked as one of:
- attested — supported by surviving manuscript or archaeological evidence;
- reconstructed — a modern scholarly or interpretive reconstruction from partial evidence;
- contemporary — a modern practice, developed in the nineteenth century or later, presented as such.
Several elements widely associated with “Celtic astrology” — including the popular thirteen-tree birth calendar — are contemporary constructions with no attested basis in medieval Irish sources, and are presented in the App on that basis.
The App is a work of interpretation and design, not a scholarly edition or an academic authority. Nothing in it should be cited as historical or linguistic fact, relied upon for academic work, or treated as the teaching of any religion, tradition, lineage, or living practitioner community. We claim no religious or spiritual authority and speak for no tradition.
3.8 Machine-generated content
Interpretive text in the App — presented under names such as “the whisper of the grove” or “the voice of the symbols” — is produced by generative artificial intelligence. We tell you this plainly here, and we do not claim otherwise anywhere.
Because of this:
- Output is non-deterministic: the same draw may produce different text on different occasions.
- Output is generated automatically and is not reviewed by a human before you see it.
- Output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, historically wrong, or nonsensical, and may occasionally state something confidently that is simply untrue.
- The App is not a person. It has no knowledge of you beyond what you give it, no memory of you beyond your stored readings, no judgement, and no capacity for care. It is not a friend, a counsellor, a therapist or a confidant, and it must not be used as a substitute for human relationships or professional support.
Do not enter medical details, financial account details, government identification numbers, passwords, or another person’s private information into any free-text field. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to text you enter.
3.9 Your decisions are your own
You are solely responsible for every decision you make and every action you take, whether or not you consulted the App first. We are not responsible for the consequences of any choice you make after using the App.
If a reading unsettles you, treat it as what it is — an arrangement of symbols and generated text, not a verdict.
4. Your account
- The App creates an anonymous account for you automatically so your readings are not lost. You may optionally upgrade it by signing in with Google or Apple.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your Google or Apple account secure. Anyone with access to it can access your Ogham Oracle account.
- You may not create an account for anyone else, impersonate anyone, or share your account.
- You may sign out or delete your account permanently at any time from Settings → Account. Deleting your account erases your readings, your derived identity and your local data. It cannot be undone.
- Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. See section 7.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms — see section 16.
5. Licence
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use one copy of the App on a device you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:
- copy, modify, translate, adapt or create derivative works of the App;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, prompts or content pipeline, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute or make the App available to any third party;
- remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notice;
- use the App or its output to build, train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark any machine-learning model or competing product;
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract content from the App or its content endpoints;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with any access control, entitlement check, usage limit or security feature;
- offer paid divination, fortune-telling or advisory services to third parties using the App’s output as the substance of that service.
6. Free features, PRO membership, and limits
Ogham Oracle follows a simple rule: knowledge is free, practice is supported by members.
Lore, reference material, the ogham alphabet, the Wheel of the Year, identity reveals and a set of free spreads are available at no cost. Ogham Oracle PRO unlocks the remaining spreads, unlimited interpretations, the full archive of your history, and other member features described on the membership screen inside the App.
Free use is subject to limits, which are displayed in the App and which currently include a weekly allowance of AI interpretations, a daily limit on quick yes/no draws, and a limit on how far back your free history reaches.
We may change which features are free, which are PRO, and what the limits are, including for existing users. Where a change materially reduces what an active paid subscription already gives you, we will notify you in the App before it takes effect, and you may cancel under section 7.
Free allowances are personal, non-transferable, hold no cash value, and may not be sold, pooled or exchanged.
7. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
7.1 How you buy
PRO memberships are auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the App. The price, currency, billing period and any introductory or trial terms are shown to you inside the App before you confirm, and again by the store at the point of purchase.
Your purchase is a transaction between you and Apple or Google. We do not process your payment and never see your payment details.
7.2 Renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, and your store account is charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your store account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
7.3 Free trials and introductory offers
Where offered, a free trial or introductory price is available once per user per store account, at our and the store’s discretion. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription at the standard price. If you buy a subscription while a trial is running, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
7.4 Cancelling
You cancel through your store, not through us, and not by deleting the App or your account.
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Ogham Oracle → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → Menu → Subscriptions → Ogham Oracle → Cancel.
Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep PRO access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription, and neither does deleting your account.
7.5 Refunds
All refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. We cannot issue, approve or force a refund for a store purchase.
- Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions
Except where the law of your country requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and there is no refund for a partly used period, for a period during which you did not use the App, or for features you did not use.
7.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. A change takes effect only at the start of a new billing period, and you will be given notice in advance in the manner required by the applicable store — in some regions your explicit consent is required, in which case the subscription will not renew without it. If you do not accept a new price, cancel before it takes effect.
7.7 Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom
You normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital content. By purchasing and immediately gaining access to PRO features, you expressly request that performance begins immediately and acknowledge that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the content has been fully supplied, in accordance with Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the equivalent UK provisions.
This does not affect your statutory rights where the digital content is faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality. Where a store’s own policy is more generous than the law requires, that policy applies.
8. What you write in the App
You may type questions, notes and a display name into the App (“Your Content”).
- You keep ownership of Your Content. We claim nothing in it.
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, process and display Your Content solely to operate the App for you — including sending it to our AI providers to generate your interpretation, and syncing it to your account. This licence ends when you delete the content, subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
- We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and our providers are contractually barred from doing so.
- You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm you have the right to submit it and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break any law.
- Do not enter other people’s personal or sensitive information without their consent; content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or that sexualises or endangers a minor; malware or executable code; or anything designed to manipulate, jailbreak or extract our systems or our AI providers’ systems.
- We do not routinely review Your Content and are not obliged to. Where we become aware of content that breaches these Terms, we may remove it and suspend the account.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation;
- present the App’s output to anyone else as professional advice, a prediction of fact, or the work of a human practitioner;
- use the App to harass, deceive, defraud, stalk or exploit anyone;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, our servers, our content storage, or any account that is not yours;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach any security or authentication measure;
- use bots, scripts, emulators, modified clients or automated means to interact with the App;
- attempt to obtain PRO features without paying for them, including by tampering with receipts, entitlements or device time.
10. Intellectual property
The App and everything in it that is not Your Content — including the software, the interface, the illustrations, the typography, the spread designs, the written lore, the interpretive corpus, the quiz content, the sound design, the name Ogham Oracle, and our logos — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.
Historic ogham characters, and the underlying medieval Irish material, are not owned by anyone. Our particular selection, arrangement, translation, wording, artwork and presentation of that material are.
Output. As between you and us, and subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may use the interpretive text generated for your own readings for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, including sharing an individual reading with friends. You may not compile, republish, redistribute or commercialise the App’s output, or use it as content for another product or service. Because generated output is not unique to you, we make no claim that it is exclusive to you and give no warranty of originality.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use them without obligation or compensation to you.
11. Third-party services
The App relies on services operated by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, PostHog and OpenAI, and may link to third-party sites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content, and their inclusion is not an endorsement.
12. Availability, changes and beta features
We provide the App on an “as available” basis. We may, at any time and without liability to you:
- modify, add to or remove features, content, spreads or limits;
- suspend the App for maintenance, security or legal reasons;
- release features labelled beta, preview or experimental, which may be unstable, incomplete or withdrawn without notice;
- discontinue the App entirely, in which case we will give reasonable advance notice in the App where practicable, and no subscription will renew after that point.
The App requires an internet connection for some features, including generated interpretations and syncing. We are not responsible for your connectivity, your device, your operating system, or store availability in your country.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and all its content and output are provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults and without warranty of any kind.
We expressly disclaim all warranties, express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement.
Without limiting the above, we do not warrant that: the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; any defect will be corrected; the App is free of harmful components; or that any reading, interpretation, portrait, compatibility result or omen is accurate, meaningful, reliable, predictive or fit for any purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. In those places, some or all of the above may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity or anticipated savings, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- We are not liable for any decision you make, or fail to make, in reliance on the App, or for any loss, injury, harm, cost or damage resulting from such a decision — including medical, psychological, financial, legal, professional, relational or reputational harm.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid us or through the stores for the App in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that may not be excluded under mandatory consumer protection law. If you are a consumer, you keep all mandatory statutory rights under the law of your country of residence, and nothing here overrides them.
15. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising out of: your breach of these Terms; your misuse of the App; Your Content; or your use of the App’s output in a way these Terms prohibit — in particular, presenting it to another person as professional advice or as a statement of fact.
16. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within it.
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you materially breach these Terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse, or if we are required to do so by law. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to respond.
If we terminate your access without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid subscription period where we are able to, or direct you to the store to obtain it.
Sections 3, 8 (ownership), 10, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 21 survive termination.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Serbia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Novi Sad, Serbia.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection law: this clause does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your own country.
Before going to court, please write to us at runicoracle.app@gmail.com. Most problems can be solved in a single email.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, though we are not obliged to participate in alternative dispute resolution.
18. Apple App Store — additional terms
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, the following applies and prevails over any conflicting provision above:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Your licence to use the App is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded product you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or privacy law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim relating to the App.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions, complaints and claims relating to the App should be directed to runicoracle.app@gmail.com.
19. Google Play — additional terms
If you obtained the App from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App. Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google under its policies.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top.
If a change is material, we will notify you inside the App at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept the new Terms, stop using the App and — if you have a subscription — cancel it through your store before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
21. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the App, and replace any earlier understanding.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it is severed or narrowed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, on notice to you.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices. We may notify you in the App or at the email address on your account. You should notify us at runicoracle.app@gmail.com.
- Language. These Terms are published in English. Translations are provided for convenience only; in the event of any conflict, the English version governs, except where the law of your country requires otherwise.
